UI Reference
This topic lists UI options (for example, backup, autosave, look and feel, and item ordering in a tree) and their descriptions.
To access the UI options:
Click on the ReadyAPI toolbar.
Select UI in the left navigation of the ReadyAPI Preferences dialog and configure the necessary options.
The available options and their descriptions are in the table below.

Theme | Selects the color set for UI elements:

Close projects | If selected, all the projects are closed at startup to reduce the startup time and lower memory consumption. |
Show test step editor | If selected, ReadyAPI opens the test step editor when a new test step is created. See Test Steps. |
Sort projects | If selected, projects are sorted in the Navigator in alphabetical order. |
Sort services | If selected, services are sorted in the Navigator in alphabetical order. |
Sort REST resources | If selected, REST resources are sorted in the Navigator in alphabetical order. |
Sort requests | If selected, requests are sorted in the Navigator in alphabetical order. |
Show descriptions | If selected, ReadyAPI displays descriptions when available. |
Save projects on exit | If selected, ReadyAPI automatically saves all the projects on exit. |
Create backup | If selected, ReadyAPI creates a backup copy of the project file before saving it. |
Backup folder | The directory to store backups. Default value: the relative path to the project directory. |
Autosave interval | Sets an interval for automatic project saving, in minutes. This option is applied only to projects in which no tests are running. Enter |
Enable the Groovy log | If selected, ReadyAPI keeps the Groovy log active during load testing. |
Normalize line-break | If selected, when saving your projects, ReadyAPI will use line breaks that are specific to your operating system. Default: Selected. We recommend that you enable this setting if you add your project to a Git repository. The setting will make the project files more friendly to Git's “auto-merge” feature. NoteWe have introduced a setting in Global Preferences to select the preferred line-break system when creating and editing files under the existing Normalize line-break setting. This feature is designed to enhance diff viewing when merging changes between ReadyAPI and Git. When editing files, there is an additional option to rely on the existing line breaks. To avoid unnecessary changes, ensure these settings are the same for everyone collaborating on the ReadyAPI project. Wrap content in raw message viewers | If selected, ReadyAPI wraps the content of requests and responses in the raw message viewer. |

Send usage statistics | If selected, ReadyAPI sends feature usage data to help improve ReadyAPI. Enabled by default. |
Do not notify about the use of Property Expansion | If selected, the message informing you about property expansions is not displayed. |
Timestamp format in the log component | Specify a format of the timestamp used in log messages. |
Workspace type | Defines the workspace mode: either Tabbed or Single Panel. |
Minimize button | If selected, disables the minimize button () for tabs. |
Undock button | If selected, disables the undock button () for tabs. |
Tab sizing policy | If selected, it keeps the tabs the same size unless they are manually resized. |
Color blind mode | If selected, enables the color-blind mode. |
Display Scaling (Zoom) | Adjusts how ReadyAPI is scaled on your screen. The default setting is optimized for 100%. Select the required percentage to change the zoom level. Changes require restarting ReadyAPI. Available options: 50%, 60%, 70%, 80%, 90%, 100% (default), 125%, 150%, 175%. |
