Important Notice for ReadyAPI Customers
Starting from ReadyAPI 3.62.0, VirtServer 3.29.0, and TestEngine 1.34.0, SmartBear has deprecated file-based licenses in favor of the ID-based SmartBear License Management (SLM) system. As of October 1, 2025, file-based licenses are no longer issued, activated/deactivated, or supported; all new and updated licenses are managed through SLM. Supported operating systems
Windows 7 SP1 with convenience rollup update (KB3125574) or a later Windows operating system (32- or 64-bit).
Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 with convenience rollup update (KB3125574) or a later Windows Server operating system.
OS X 10.7.3 (Lion) or a later macOS operating system.
OS X Server 10.7 (Lion) or a later macOS Server operating system.
64-bit Oracle Linux 6 or later.
64-bit Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 or later.
64-bit Suse Linux Enterprise Server 10 SP2 or later.
Ubuntu Linux 10.04 or later.
Supported Java versions
Protection! Licensing Server version 5.x (works with ReadyAPI 3.3.1 or later) requires Java 12 or later. You can use OpenJDK implementation:
Protection! Licensing Server version 4.x (works with ReadyAPI 3.3.0 or earlier) requires Java 8 (JRE 1.8.0.181 or a later Java 8 release). You can download it from the Oracle website. Also, you can use OpenJDK implementation. Protection! Licensing Server v. 4.x does not support other Java versions (Java 9 and later).
Minimal system requirements
Intel Core i3, i5, or i7 (the 3rd generation or later).
4 GB of RAM or more.
500 MB of free disk space for installation.
